 Welcome back to School everybody!
I am your new teacher
Miss Emily.
Please line up and as I call your names
please come in, in an orderly fashion, and
find your seats.

Ann you may come in first for
helping me get ready this morning.

Thank you Miss Emily.

Joan and Charlotte

Where's my seat?

Over here next to me Joan.

Nancy and Patsy.

I'm so excited to be in school!

What if I can't read yet? I'm only 6.

You'll be fine dear, just take your seat.

Shirley and Cindy.

Will we have a drama club?

What about a math club?

Emma and Molly.

We're in 8th grade now, so we get to sit in back!

OK, wait for me.

All right everybody, please stand
for the Pledge of Allegiance.

"I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America,
and to the Republic for which it stands,
one Nation Under God, indivisible,
with liberty and justice for all."

All right class, you may be seated.

Please take out your spelling books...

I can tell that Miss Emily is going to be a wonderful teacher. Is that a watch she has at her waist?

I love that Shirley asked about Drama Club.

The children are dressed so nicely for the new school year.

  4. This is such a cute scene. Love each doll's dress style. The backdrop and scene details are great. Love that you included the Pledge.
WE all are praying for the brave teachers and students as we begin school again this fall.

  5. Thank you Dorothy,

Miss Emily is a very good teacher. This is her first class. Yes, Shirley is all about Drama club and being in the limelight. :) I had a lot of fun finding and dressing all the girls in something for school. I tried to stick with styles from between 1930 and 1945.

I think I thought of this post because I am ready for MY kids to go back to school! haha

  6. Thank you Doreen,

I was really having fun with this backdrop. I have lots of doll-size books and other accessories. I just remember being in school and the Pledge was the first thing we did. Now, as an adult, I have lovely memories of school, so it was fun creating this post.

  7. This is darling! I love the dolls and dresses and the whole set up. 55 years ago in 1965 I started Kindergarten! Oh those blissful happy days, compared to now when the dear students have to wear masks due to a pandemic. I love all your sweet dolly posts.

  11. Thank you Loretta,

I think that is why I wanted to do this post. I started kindergarten in 1971. I was just remembering how carefree life was in elementary school.

  14. Thank you Marion,

I had fun dressing everyone in their school dresses. I am just being nostalgic for when I was in elementary school. It was fun gathering up all the accessories for this school room.

  15. HI Brenda,

I see that there are all ages in your school - Miss Emily is a nice teacher - it;s always more enjoyable for students to have nice teacher - I remember some of mine fondly.
Your girls are all dressed so well for their first day of school - I remember having something special to wear for "first day", too.

Great to have the Pledge at the beginning of the class, that too is a wonderful warm memory.

You obviously spent a lot of time getting this all ready - good planning and mice work!

  16. Thank you Janet,

Yes, the Savage Pea School is a one room school. ;) Miss Emily is very excited to start her new career as a school teacher. I too remember school with fond memories. The first day was always so exciting, wearing new clothes and finding out who your teacher was. The Pledge was always the first hing we did, it was part of being in school. I personally think it is SO important.

I had so much fun getting ready for this post. Most of the things I already had. You can see that I reused the room backdrop from previous posts. It is just a tri-fold project display. Maybe I'll do a how-to for that?

  17. So many great photos, I love how you tell your stories with so many Brenda. Honestly, you must have so much patience, I'm lucky if I can manage to position my dolls to take half a dozen photos. :)
    Big hugs,

  18. Thank you Xanadu,

I enjoy creating photo stories. I am a very visual person and enjoy seeing photos of dolls and their accessories. I'm glad you enjoyed the photos of all the girls.
