The night before Christmas

Is everyone ready for their Christmas photo?

Sally Ann, will you read me this book?

Yes please, Sally Ann!  We love the night
before Christmas!.

Please Sally Ann, we promise to be good.

Alright, get my chair please.

Twas the night before Christmas,
and all through the house,

Not a creature was stirring, not
even a mouse.

The stockings were hung

By the chimney with care

In hopes that St. Nicolas soon would be there...

Goodnight Sally, Goodnight everybody else...

Goodnight Helena and Lillibet.

Daisy, it's bedtime.
Nutmeg is not tired, he wants
to see Santa.
Santa can't come
until you are asleep.

OK, ok! Fine.

I'm going to bed now Sally.
Look Joan's already asleep!

Goodnight girls, Merry Christmas.
Goodnight Sally.

Zzzzzz

Zzzz

Goodnight Christmas Tree.

The children were nestled all snug in their beds...

While visions of sugarplums danced in their heads

And Mama in her kerchief
and I in my cap,
had just settled down for a long
winter's nap.

When out on the lawn
there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from my bed
to see what was the matter.

Away to the window
I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters
and threw up the sash.

The moon on the breast of
the new fallen snow,
gave a luster of midday
to objects below;

When what to my wondering
eyes should appear;
But a miniature sleigh and
eight tiny reindeer;

With a little old driver
so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment it must be
Saint Nick.

And he looked like a peddler just opening his pack.
His eyes how they twinkled
His dimples how merry!

And laying his finger aside of his nose,
And giving a nod up the chimney he rose.

Crissy Doll Christmas Dresses

It's that time of year!
And the girls need
Christmas Dresses.

Crissy and Shea

Cricket and Mia

Oddly enough, between all four of these
girls I had only one Christmas dress!

I had this single vintage Christmas dress.
I found out the year it was released on
this website...

This blog is a GREAT resource
for Crissy doll collectors.

These two dresses came out on the
"Look Around" Crissy and Velvet
dolls in 1972.

I did a search online for "Crissy Christmas Dress"
and this is the kinds of things that came up.

Well there is at least one Christmas dress there
just not the dresses I was looking for.

Finally I found this Crissy
Christmas dress...

and another, but no panties...

And finally another short dress
for Cricket.

Look at these two dresses side by side.
The fabrics are slightly different.
The one on the left has a deeper green color
and the fabrics are not the same.

Here is an ad I found from 1972
showing these two "Look Around"
Dolls. Can you believe they
sold for less than $8.00!

Here are the Christmas Dresses!

Mia and Shea

Crissy and Cricket.

Uh oh! Cricket's not happy.
She's the only one with no
Christmas Dress!

Finally Cricket's dress arrived!
I think it was stuck in
a snow storm back East.

I removed these flowers from the
dress waistbands for washing.
One dress doesn't have the flower
so I will decide what to
do with these later.

I set Cricket's dress to soak.
Ick! Look at that brown water!
This is why I always wash doll clothes.

Laid flat to dry.

The next morning it is ready for ironing.
These smaller ironing boards are so
helpful when ironing small dresses.

OK!
