Ties and Bowties for Guy Dolls

Many of you may have these boyfriend

dolls for your 11.5" girls.

I thought you might be interested in 

how I make their ties and bowties 

for their formal wear.

You will need 1/4" ribbon.

String elastic

Fray check.

And of course, scissors.

Fold the ribbon over your elastic.

The back ribbon folds over the front

This same ribbon then goes

back under the elastic.

Then insert into the front loop.

Pull it all tight until it looks

like this.

Next, try the tie on your guy 

for length.

Trim the ribbon into a point

just past his waistband.

Lastly, fix ribbon ends with

Fray Check.

Fray Check dries invisible.

For a bowtie, simply tie some ribbon

into a bow on your elastic. Make

sure it is about 1 inch across. 

Keep tightening and adjusting

 the bow until it is very

tight on your elastic.

Finish the raw ends with Fray Check.

When I am dressing my guys I 

lift their collar then tie the elastic 

behind his neck like this.

Don't worry these knots are 

easy to untie.

Tuck the extra elastic into the jacket.

Fold down the collar and adjust the jacket.

A nice tie really finishes a

gentleman's suit of clothes.
