A NEW Puddin!

Recently this box arrived at my house.

When I opened it I saw yellow gingham.

THEN...
I saw this little sleeping face.
She is a 1965 Madame Alexander Brunette Puddin.

You can see the elastic in her
bloomers is stretched out.

She came with these original booties.

Her hair seemed almost oily, I think from an
original factory treatment to make dolls hair shine.

Her dress had this dark stain.

But, just look at that face!
Who couldn't love this baby girl?

I washed her hair thoroughly to remove
the oily stuff.

Relaxing in the doll spa.

While she had her bath, her dress was soaking.
My family no longer asks me what is soaking
anymore.  They just know - doll clothes.

Here is her original dress all fresh and clean
with new elastic in sleeves and bloomers.

Want to see her now?

Here she is in her original dress, but look at her in BLUE!

So pretty.
I LOVE her in this blue dress.
So much better than the yellow.

Her name is Crissy Ann.

I took her braid out and will
try and make it a curl.
But for now it is cute as a pony.

Let's see what a curler will do.

I know, not much difference.

Here is Crissy Ann with her new sisters.
OH! What's that new blanket you ask?

I found this on a recent visit to family...

in their neighborhood fabric and craft store.

It was a sample for display and I got it for a song!

How cute is that?!?!

Thank you Linda,

I am very happy with her. She didn't really need much except a little cleaning, but so sweet!
These big cloth body dolls are SO huggable.

Hi Brenda,
She is beautiful.I love the blue on her too.It really suits her.
After me telling you previously how hard these dolls are hard to find here someone listed a Pussycat doll on our local trade site.So I now have two Pussycat dolls. Both with same colouring as yours.
I did wonder if you could help me though. Both mine are marked 1965 but I Notice quite a few differences between them. Both needed mending and the stuffing seemed quite different in each one .My blond one has black eyes and quite peachy skin whereas the brunette has grey eyes with pupils and pale skin.
The texture of the hair seems different on each of them too.
I have been trying to research them but can't find much information.
I think yours look beautiful and you display them perfectly!

Oh Brenda what a difference a day makes!! Your little Puddin is beautiful again, so much so, she's almost good enough to eat. :) I love those chubby little cheeks.
Big hugs,
X

Thank you Anna,

I really like her in blue too. I would love to see photos of your dolls. You can send them to
thesavagedollblog@gmail.com If I have a photo I can do a better job of researching. The date on the neck may be the year a mold was made, but not all the dolls are necessarily from that year. This could explain some differences. I know my 2 Puddin dolls are very different except for their face mold.

Hope to see your dolls soon!

Thank you Xanadu!

She is SO cute and cuddly. Can I confess, I sometimes just hold one of them while I am working at my computer. I love their chubby cheeks and pouty face.

Crissy Ann looks delighted to be home with her sisters. You are truly "the doll whisperer." Your sweet "finds" are always transformed under your gentle care.

I love the blanket. It is the perfect coverlet for the nursery.

How precious!! She brings a smile to me. You sure made a difference in the looks of the yellow dress and panties. Did you buy her or did someone send her as a gift? It would be so wonderful to actually view all your dolls in person.

Thank you Charlotte,

I am so glad she makes you smile, she makes me smile too. I got her on eBay. I have a very bad habit of 'just looking' at dolls on eBay. Yes, it is a bit of an addiction. I actually have another doll winging her way to me as I type this.

If you are EVER in California, I would love to show you all my dolls! You can really see all my dolls in my room tour as well. :)

Thank you Georgee,
These Madame Alexander baby dolls are all so very cuddly and sweet. My own daughter has dark hair, so I have a soft spot for dark haired baby dolls.

Hi! Thank you!
I love to hear when these dolls are loved by more than one generation. I'm not sure my daughter will keep my dolls, but I hope she will. These Puddin dolls are so huggable. I love mine!
