This is my Betsy McCall doll, Sophie.
This is her carry case room. I always
loved the idea of a doll case that turned
into a bedroom. I remember taking my Barbies
in their case to my Grandma's house.
I had this Barbie case and when you opened it...
VOILA! a bedroom. Kind of.
Anyway, I enjoyed having my dolls and all their
accessories with me.
Sophie actually has 2 cases. The larger for her room
and the smaller for her clothes.
In her room she has a little slipper chair.
A tiny hat box and journal and two tiny books
every girl should read.
These all sit here in the corner next to her bed.
Here is her bed. It is a daybed, so she can
sit with friends when they visit.
She also has this tiny vintage doll cradle.
The tiny baby came as part of her crocheted
dress set. How cute is that?
Sophie is named after my Sophie.
I think you can see why.
This is Sophie's dress case
She has several outfits.
This is the dress she came in.
Very sweet, I know!
This is a hand sewn dress I made for her.
Here is one of 2 wrap skirts I made for her.
I also made her sweater and book bag.
I love this little plaid wrap skirt!
Both skirts have this fringed edge.
Lastly Sophie has this vintage dress that
came unexpectedly in a large lot
of vintage doll dresses.
You can see it was hand sewn by someone long ago.

I love your Little Betsy McCall Sophie and I do see the resemblance with your real life Sophie. You have decorated her room case beautifully.
I have a Betsy of my own, she has the same hair as yours, but I didn't rename mine. I also have a room case but it was decorated for someone else...after seeing yours I think it maybe time to redecorate...thanks for the inspiration!
My Betsy also needs more clothes for her closet and I love the little pink crochet dress Sophie is wearing in the first photo, did you make it? It's very pretty.

I have been planning to create a room box for my doll. You have given me some great ideas. I don't sew though so I will be shopping online for accessories.

I wish I could crochet such tiny pieces! No, I purchased it on eBay. I looked to see if I could find this artist and add her link, but sadly no. The tiny crochet flowers just amaze me and each one with a tiny pearl bead. I know Sophie gets tired of the same dress, but I just love it.
I used to keep my Betsy with larger dolls, but I realized she needed her own little Tiny Betsy room. The result you can see.

You know Dorothy, There are ways to get around sewing. If you like a certain fabric you can hotglue it, or use fray check. A LOT of Sophie's room and accessories are glued. You are in luck though there are lots of dollhouse size items that work for Betsy since he is so tiny. AND there are so many cute dollhouse items out now in the craft store. YOu should also look at the Fairy Garden items out there.

I am so happy you enjoyed my posts. I just like to show how easy it can be to make cute things for dolls without a lot of expense. I learned a lot looking at Barbie and dollhouse size craft posts on Pinterest. That is where I learned how to make little books and hat boxes.
The products I used for Lara may not have the same name, but if you ask the store for these items they will be able to show you. Anywhere they sell wood and paint products. I have realized that when men appreciate that these dolls are basically wood, they become interested in the care that must be taken. At least that is the case with my husband the woodworker. Good luck I hope you find what you need!

All my dolls have to have at least a few outfits just for them. They sometimes share, but Sophie is too small to really share with anyone else. The 2 Sophie's do look alike!

I'm pleased you have enjoyed this post. I think that is why I liked this Tiny Betsy, because of how she reminded me of my daughter.
I don't have my original Barbies anymore. My daughter collected Barbies for awhile - the Holiday and Birthday boxed dolls, but she lost interest. All I have now is a Peter Rabbit dressed Barbie. You can see her back in my 2020 room tour.

This tiny Betsy McCall is a reproduction of the Betsy McCall dolls from the 1950s. I had a vintage Betsy McCall long ago, but she was too fragile to play with and I like to play with my dolls. I'm glad you enjoyed my post.

I always wanted a Betsy McCall. One of my aunt's would bring her old magazines to me and I would gently tear out the sheets of Betsy paperdolls and cut them out. I glued the doll to a piece of cereal box so she was sturdy and kept them all in a shoe box. They were cherished but disappeared during a move when I was a teen.
I keep an eye out for these paperdolls. Also for replacements for my Betsey Wetsey with short very curly hair and a Tammy doll that I can afford.

The tiny Betsy dolls are SO precious! I really adore them just for their tininess!! I have seen pictures of the paper dolls, but never had one for myself. Although I did play with paper dolls as a little girl.
