Thomas

Hey sis! You two ready for lunch?
Hello Thomas.

Thomas I will thank you to leave
that surfboard outside.

What? Why?

What's going on? Oh, Thomas
those things bring in SO much sand!

Oh yeah, sorry.  I forgot.

So, you ready to go to lunch?

Are you seriously taking us to lunch in that outfit?
Ooo, she has a point Tom.

What?  We're eating at the Beach Cafe!

I'm getting my purse. We'll be back for you in 20 minutes.

Hat... and there's my handbag.

Let's go Tom.
Whoa, where are you taking me?
Back to your place to get a decent outfit!
Good luck you two!

20 minutes later...

Wow Tom you look great!
She made me wear this.

It's a great improvement Tom, you look like
a gentleman for a change.

We compromised, I didn't demand a tie and
he got to wear green socks.

Well, ladies are we all ready now?
Yes, let's go!

Tom, where are you taking us?
I promise this place has a great view.

See?  What did I tell ya?
Great view for lunch huh?

Yes indeed Tom!  It certainly is.

Thomas is a Vogue Jeff doll.

A 10" Fashion Doll Shopping Spree!

SO, I was lying on my couch with a broken foot,
feeling a bit sorry for myself when this box arrived!

OH! I know what this is!
But let me show all of you.

The first thing I saw was lots of
pink tissue paper.

Then all these wonderful little packages.

Look how pretty everything is.
Well, sadly, I could not go upstairs with
my broken foot, so I had to set this box
on the bottom stair and walk away.
SIGH

But a couple days went by and soon enough I was able
to hop up those stairs to my doll room.

The first thing I did was begin unwrapping
my package contents.

There was this pair of Royal blue heels...

These Fuchsia pink with gold heels...

and these black heels.

I grabbed the next item.

There was this one-piece suit...

It also had this overskirt and hat.
The pink shoes are perfect for this outfit.

This outfit also came with this
little matching kerchief.

Next is this blue fabric.
What could it be?

Another adorable one-piece.
I love the collar detail.
(Would that be called a collar?)

This also has an over-skirt, hat
and a matching shopping bag.

OH! What could be in here?

This lovely green print dress with...

Matching shoes!
AND...

A matching coat and handbag.

Last is this lavender something...

There was a Lavender print dress, matching hat,
handbag and shoes!

Here is a close-up of the shoes...

And handbag...

And matching hat and earrings.

The complete ensemble.

Where, you may ask, did I get all this
10" doll splendor? From my friend
Susan who makes everything!
Clothes, shoes, hats and handbags!!

A Labor Day Fashion Show

My Grandmother always told me never wear white after Labor Day.  This made me think it would be fun to have a white dress fashion show!  So here we go...

I will start with Ann.  This is a dress
you may have seen other dolls wearing in past posts.
This dress actually fits Ann best.

This is a vintage white organza dress from the 1930s or 40s.

This is another vintage organza dress

I tried this on several dolls, but decided
it would be a christening gown for
Sophia.

This little dress has an eyelet bodice and organza skirt.
It fits Shirley perfectly.
It needs a few holes fixed, but I
just wanted to include it even though it
still needs work.

Here is a detail of the front.
It has these tiny embroidered details I love.

This is Emma, wearing a dress I made during a
Regency stage I went through.

Here is a close-up of the bodice.

Joan is wearing a recent find.
It is a softer fabric than the organza dresses.
It is definitely vintage and looks like
the same era as Joan, late 30s to early 40s.

Here is a close-up of the neckline.
So sweet!

This is Charlotte in her original dress.
One of my favorite dresses!

Patsy just got this new dress and hat set.
I know it is not totally white, but I wanted
to include it.

So cute!

This is Grace who started ALL my
doll collecting.
She is my daughter's first AG doll.
Grace is wearing the rare white dress that
came on the Gwen Thompson AG doll.
Gwen was a friend of Chrissa the
2009 Girl of the Year.

AND, one more white organza dress.
This is my Grandmother in 1930.
She was 10 years old.

Thank you for coming to our Fashion Show!

AND
Happy Labor Day!
