She's Arrived!

A package came in the mail!

It's my new brunette Little Miss Revlon doll!

Not too dirty really, so that's good.

Her earring holes have turned a little green.
I will get some acne cream to treat the green tinge.

AH, a refreshing shampoo and wash.

This is my cleaning team.
Wig or synthetic hair shampoo and conditioner
can be purchased at any beauty supply shop.
Magic eraser sponges do a great job of cleaning
vinyl doll skin.

Much better already.

After her first hair brushing.
I couldn't wait to see her in a pretty dress.
I think her trademark color will
be PURPLE.

Next I want to brighten her face.
I use a skin tone and a melon color.
I first use the melon to repaint her lips.

Next I mix the two colors and use a
makeup sponge dried on a paper towel
to pink her cheeks.

After a trip to the store for some acne cream,
I used a needle dipped in the cream and
inserted into her earring holes.
After one night the green tinge is
almost completely gone!

Right after I found this doll I also found
2 dresses.

This purple stripe dress...

and this periwinkle dotted swiss.

I found out from Jenny that the purple
stripe dress is from an Eegee's Annette doll.
(A Barbie size Lilli clone)

The dress is a fit except the bodice is a little tall.
I will repair and refit the bodice.

But first it needed a washing.

Next is the dotted swiss dress. The dress is clean
and crisp, so I decided not to wash it.

The dress was very sheer, so I made
 this simple strapless slip.

I also made a hairband and belt.

These are the shoes my new doll came in.
They are very faded blue.

I decided to do a makeover on them.
I will use ivory with the blue.

The shoes will match her belt.

READY TO SEE HER
in her new dresses?

HERE

SHE

IS!

Here she is in the first purple dress I put her in.

And, here she is in her periwinkle dotted swiss
with her renewed heels, belt and
hairband.

The belt is made with a vintage earring piece.

Her lace hairband is also made
with vintage lace.

Next is the purple stripe dress.
I adjusted the bodice by tacking
it in the back.

I love how she looks in purple!

I have one more outfit to share!!

I made her this crochet top and
matching full skirt.

The little bling on her waistband
is also from a vintage earring.

Time to get acquianted with Amanda
and Julia.

Everybody meet
LAUREN!
Welcome to the Savage Pea
Lauren.

Thank you Charlotte,
The dotted Swiss dress is much prettier than the photos show. It has really pretty details. I am happy I found the dotted Swiss. I was not even certain it would fit!

Hi Brenda,
Lauren looks beautiful. It makes me want a brunette Miss Revlon now. Purple really is a lovely colour on her. I love how your wardrobe for her has a colour theme. She is lucky!

hi Brenda,

While I think Lauren will look lovely in any color you choose, purple certainly makes her glow! I just love her purple wardrobe - although that deep turquoise sweater sure looks great on her too!

Hi Janet!
Thank you. I really love how Lauren looks in her purple and turquoise outfits. She was so much fun to refresh and dress. LMR dolls are such a fun size. I crocheted that sweater you know? I have to brag a little.

Purple is her color, just like it suited Elizabeth Taylor's dark tresses!

I can't seem to get the hang of commenting LOL. I was trying to tell you how beautiful purple suits Lauren, just like purple was Elizabeth Taylor's signature color.
