A 1970s Crissy Doll Corner

In my last post about Kimberly, you may
have noticed a peek of something new.
Yes, right back there in the corner.

This is how this corner looked when I first reorganized
the doll room. While I love all my Raggedy Ann dolls,
I wasn't happy with this corner.

Now, when I swivel my sewing chair I can see this!
I like seeing this cute room much better.

Here is a close-up. This room is for my 1970s
Crissy dolls.  That's Shea on the far left. Mia up on the
bunk and Cricket in front of the dresser.

Here is the room from the left. That's Crissy
on the far right. The sofa is a trundle bed for
Crissy and Shea.

Here is a closer look at the tea cart.
These girls need to get a tea set!

Much better. Now they are ready for TEA!

Here is the bookcase coffee table.

Here are a few books from my miniature book
collection.  I made the Miss Suzy book!
I LOVED reading the Raggedy Ann
books as a girl, but I never had a
Raggedy Ann til I was grown.

Up on the wall I wanted an eclectic grouping of art.

This is an adorable vintage Birthday card
my BFF sent me. It is perfect for this room.

This is a babydoll stroller for Mia and Cricket.
In front is the girl's record player.
To the left is Shea's electric guitar.
Groovy.

Cricket loves strolling with her Raggedy Ann,
baby Cheri and Ragdog in this baby buggy.

The girls love listening to their records,
especially the Jackson 5!

This dresser is a salesman's sample.

This mini lamp really works!
The other two pieces to this dresser set
are in my 1930s doll corner.

You can see the large dresser and nightstand.

The girls are very happy with their new room.

Yes we are! Ready for the long locks?
1 - 2 - 3...TURN!

Very pretty!

Very pretty indeed!

BUT WAIT!
What happened to their previous room
in the big doll house?!?

Kit now has the case room.

And, the three little girls share this side.

Everyone is happy!

Hi Mary,
Thank you! I love creating doll rooms. When I was a girl I made sure all my dolls and plushies had a place to sleep with a blanket. Drove my mom crazy because I made up for the lack of blankets with bath towels! Hahaha

Hi Brenda,
I love the Crissy room. I had not noticed in Kimberlys picture.
I can see why you like seeing it from your sewing chair. It's so bright and colourful. Kit and the other girls look happy too.

Hi Anna.
Thank you! I do like to see pretty things wherever I look from my sewing chair. It makes me happy to see their room looking so cute, if I do say so myself!

It's such a pleasure to look at your photos - there's just so much to take in! You are a true master of the details and putting them all together... you must feel totally immersed when you are 'playing dolls'! (Me, too - it's like the clock stops, and I'm just lost in what I'm doing. It's the best feeling!)
Thank you so much for taking the time and effort to share this with us - I get vicarious pleasure from seeing what YOU'VE accomplished!
Your pal,
Susan

Hi Susan,
Thank you! I take that as high praise coming from you. I think that I get as much enjoyment as anyone from playing in my doll room. I am such a kid at heart. WHen I was a girl I had a small group of dolls and plush animals. I was constantly making them beds with my Mom's towels and pillow cases. A bookcase in my room was transformed into a Barbie townhouse. I am living my doll dreams! I just wish my doll friends could jump through the screen and visit!
Hugs, your pal,
Brenda
