A Day At The Beach

Hi Girls, are you interested in going surfing with us tomorrow?

SURE!

OK, we'll pick you up at 6am.

Oh no! That's too early.

Um, but that's when the tide is going to be best...

Oh!, well we couldn't possibly be ready that early.
But, maybe we'll meet you there and you can
get a spot for us!

Um, sure, do you need us to help carry
anything?

Oh, that's a great idea!  Thanks!
We just need you to take a couple little things.

Are you sure this is ALL?

I think that will do.
Don't crush my hat!

Um, OK, I'll be careful.
Guess we'll see you tomorrow...
Sometime.

NEXT DAY

Let's get some surfing in before the girls get here.

6:00 am

8:00 am

10:00 am

That was awesome!
Yeah, but we better get the girls things.

This is such a nice spot boys.
Yes, thank you for bringing our things out
and setting up the umbrella.

It was no problem at all.
Is that lunch?

What a fun story. I think I saw Annette and Frankie on surf boards (laugh). I love that the women said 6 am was too early.

Cute!! Love their clothes and the props!

Thanks Dorothy,

I had fun with this story. I think Frankie was definitely there. I would have said the same thing about 6am. I figured unless these ladies were already surfers they would have no appreciation for the early hour to get the best waves.

Thank you Charlotte (Lil Red Hen),

I made all the dolls swimwear. The girls swim suits I used a bodice pattern and just lengthened it. The boys were easy. I found a short pattern for Ken dolls and it worked perfect. My doll room is FULL of props. The pink umbrella is for an 18" doll. The beach bag I made and the beach blanket was a cut of fleece and I glued the ric rac in place.

Hi Brenda,
The swimsuits sound quite easy to make I think I might try some.Your things always turn out perfectly. They look so stylish.
Do you live near the beach? You are lucky if you do.
I am always on the lookout for props and bits and pieces for my dolls. It's amazing what you can find!
Love the story

Thanks Anna!

I do live near the beach. I feel very fortunate. I too am always on the lookout for doll-size props when I am thrifting. Some things I make, others I find. If you can zoom in on Amanda's swimsuit you will see it is just fabric wrapped around her torso and then folded over to fit her contours. I fudge a lot of little things like that. (Shh, don't tell anyone!)

Thank you Marimay!

I am so pleased that you enjoy my site. I love playing with my dolls. That is why none of my dolls is too fragile. I like to change their clothes and create adventures for them.

I love my American Character Doll, Amanda. She has such a pensive expression. My Little Miss Revlon, Julia is definitely the outspoken one of the two.

You might be interested in the Little Miss Revlon and Friends group. It is all about the 10" fashion dolls from the 50s. That is why they added 'and Friends'. We share photos of our dolls and share in any sewing, knitting or crochet projects for our dolls.

Hi Brenda,

Thank you for recommending the LMR and friends group. We certianly welocme new members, and like many of the members, love our non-Revlon dolls too.

Your swimwear is darling , I imagine that living on the coast beach props are plentiful. I'd have a lot if I lived there, too.

Props are part of the collecting hobby, all those cute thing help to set the stage for our stories. it's not just all fashions and posing!

A cute little story. Did the girls venture into the sea at all? Only I thought they might not fancy it in case they ruined their hair? But they look lovely just sitting there in the sunshine!
PS Cannot blame them for not wanting to go out at 6am!! :D

Thank you Sharon,

You know the girls really just go to the beach to look pretty. When they go in the water it is just to their knees. Yes, their hair would be ruined, not to mention the make-up! And yes! 6am, really!?! They would have to get up at 5am just to be beautiful in time! These boys have no idea.
