Here are some of my favorite doll makeovers.
I hope you enjoy perusing them as much as I enjoyed
restoring them.
1957 Madame Alexander Cissy Doll.
This is another doll I wondered about.
She was still wearing her original dress and slip!
This red dress was also a makeover!
Not just dolls get a makeover. I found this trunk in a thrift store and
decided to give it a makeover too. This is one of my favorite projects.
WOW! I had forgotten some of these until
I started looking through my files.
I hope you enjoyed seeing these transformations
as much as I did making them happen.

Hi Brenda,
I love looking at all your past projects and often do. You always make something old look new again.
Hope you and your family are enjoying the New Year.
Anna
Thank you Anna,
I admit, I like to look back at them too. So far our New Year has been lovely.

Dear Brenda, I discovered your blog on Pinterest. I love it! It's what I would love to do someday. I love the rooms you make and making stories about the dolls. You have done to me what you say some of your friends did to you. In the last 2 years, I collected a few of lmr and her friends. Also Tammy dolls.I just discovered the Ideal Toni doll. And then you did it! You got your Honey doll! She's the most beautiful Doll! I was compelled ;) to find one like her! I found exactly like yours, but 14". And like your doll she is filthy and her hair tangled. Then I found someone on Etsy that sells dolls at reasonable prices, clean with clean clothes. I found the second Toni I wanted and another Honey! And it's all your fault!!(grin)!

Hi Beth!
I am so glad to have led you into doll temptation! Haha! It is really habit forming when you refresh that first doll. I will look for that Etsy shop. I love my doll room and spend a lot of time up here. I too have been drawn into adding more dolls to my collection by doll friends. It’s the kind of addiction i love though!

I have that doll trunk, I believe I found it at Target many years ago. It is with my first Sweet Sue, a TLC girl who got a modern look with a new wig. I have not made any changes to my trunk, but I love how you customized yours! I heard on a home reno show recently that when painting wood paneling, use a shellac primer first...maybe that would work for something like this as well, and save some of those extras steps you experienced!
Hugs, Jenny :-)
Thank you Linda,
I do enjoy finding and restoring these dolls. It brings me joy.

Thank you Jenny,
I love the idea of packing a doll and her clothes in a trunk that is also a room! I had a vinyl barbie case that was also a room. I loved taking my Barbie’s to grandmas house in that case! I have learned to start with Kilz when i paint over stained wood.

Thank you for "saving" those dolls. I always feel sorry for the dolls that need a little help. I've saved a few myself over the years. A doll friend calls them previously loved dolls and I think that is so true. I like to think some little girl loved and enjoyed them. After all that is what they were made for anyway.
A while back you showed a pair of shoes that you had ordered for Bob. Can you tell me who you ordered them from? I don't have enough shoes for my poor Bob and Jeff dolls. Thanks...Betty
Hi Betty,
I like that, “previously loved dolls”. I do feel that i am saving them and giving them another life. My Patsy Ann and Patsy Joan both share their stories if you search for them . I wondered about who was their first girl? What happened over the 80+ years since then?
I found those shoes on eBay, but i jo longer see them available! I have looked myself. I recently purchased sone plastic Ken shoes and warmed them with my hair dryer. While the plastic was soft i put them on my boy dolls. It worked great!!
